During my sophomore year at Pratt MWP, we had this professor name Cindy who was crazy about design competitions, projects and EXTRA CREDIT. She used to have us submit a Word It at least once a month as extra credit. A few days ago I was talking to my friend and we discussed how we miss doing WORD IT. I'll add a description from the site about what it is. Let's think of it as exercises that can get us conceptually thinking.. and if it's good enough, they'll publish it in their annual book.
Word it is your opportunity to express in any manner you wish and with as many (or little) other graphic elements as you need, what best describes each monthly word.
The samples are for the word REBEL. They were created by some of my friends that were in the same class with me.

I miss word its too! Even though they were extra credit they are a fun, (non-work or school oriented) creative exercise. It's also a good way to get published, many go in the "Word It Book" and there were even some on display at the Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial. Thanx for posting.
